British Citizenship test centres
There are nearly 100 test centres around the United Kingdom where you can take your British Citizenship test in a hospitable and pleasant environment. Most of the test centres are also learning centres where you can improve your English language skills.

How to book the British Citizenship test
Contact a test centre by telephone or in person. The test centre will offer you a place in one of their test sessions within 1 to 5 weeks of your request. You must wait a minimum of 7 days after booking your test before you will be able to take the test.

How much is the Citizenship test?
The test costs £34.
You will need to pay this fee at your test centre before you take the test.

If you need to cancel the test?
If you must cancel or postpone your test until another time, you must inform your test centre. If you give less than a weeks’ notice, the test centre may charge a £10 fee. Please ask the test about any cancellation fees prior to booking your test.

Proof of Identity
You will need to bring photographic ID with you to your test centre to present to the test supervisor. You must bring one of the following forms of ID

  • a passport (from your country of origin)
  • a UK driving licence, full or provisional that has a picture of you
  • A Convention Travel Document (CTD), a Certificate of Identity Document (CID) or a Stateless Person Document (SPD)
  • an Immigration Status Document, endorsed with a UK Residence Permit and bearing a photo of the holder
